Lid Stays - Miscellaneous
Lid stays, or lid hinges, are jointed sets of metal arms installed inside a crate or box lid, which lock in place so that the lid stays up when desired. Lid stays, sometimes known as table supports, come in right-handed and left-handed models, to fit the right or left side of a lid.

SPEP Lid Stays
Sierra Pacific Engineering and Products offers heavy duty lid stays with two different locking options. The first option is simply a tab on one arm, which falls into a cutout in the arm. The hinge can be unlocked by pushing the lid stay in at the elbow.
The second locking option is a little sturdier: When the lid stay is fully extended, a spring loaded tab locks both pieces together. In order to unlock the two, the pin must be depressed and then the two arms can rotate again to close the lid.
Our lid supports are made of steel and come in two finishes to complement your overall product design. Both the brass-plated and zinc-plated finishes will also help prevent corrosion.
