Fixed Grip Pawl Latches

Fixed grip latches use a rotating cam, or pawl, to engage either the door frame or a keeper. As the handle rotates, the latch compresses against the door against the frame or keeper. These latches have a modular design. This allows a single base latch to be paired with a variety of different offset cams and can thus fit the exact dimensions of any given door or frame.

Fixed grip latches are the most common type of latch and are found in automotive, electronic enclosures, HVAC systems, trucks/trailers, marine, and just about any other application with a door or access panel.

Sierra Pacific Engineering and Products produces a large selection of fixed grip, quarter turn latches in passivated stainless steel, durable thermoplastic, or die cast zinc, all of which are compatible with the same spectrum of offset cams. Screwdriver slots, key locking plugs, tamper resistant tool activated faces, wing knobs, T-handles, and L-handles are all available options with a fixed grip pawl on the back of the latch.
