Compression Latches
Sierra Pacific Engineering and Products manufactures compression latches to fit a range of industrial OEM applications. A compression latch holds a door, panel or cover shut, and at the same time compresses a gasket around the inside of the door to seal out moisture, dirt and dust. For electronic enclosures, the degree of compression required is specified by its NEMA or IP rating.

SPEP Compression Latches
HVAC units require compression latches to keep enclosures air-tight and insulate against thermal leakage. Compression latches also resist loosening due to vibration, which is important in bus, RV, Truck/Trailer and marine applications.
Our compression latch styles include panel latches, large T latches, lift and turn latches, round latches, and tool activated latches. Flush or raised trigger latches sit above the plane of the mounting surface or lie flush with it. For some applications a flush latch is required to prevent interference with other objects or to reduce airflow, for example on a vehicle.
Sierra Pacific makes compression latches in a number of materials, including steel, stainless steel, 316 SS, die-cast zinc, black matte powder coated steel, zinc-plated steel, and copper-plated steel. Finishes include brushed stainless, electropolished, brushed chrome, polished chrome, black matte paint, passivated, textured chrome, or natural.
SPEP offers both key activated and non-key activated compression latches. Not only do we have a variety of key codes available but we also make tool-activated latches in many styles, including recessed hex, slotted, recessed, double-bitted, Bellcore 216, Bellcore Electronics, and triangle in order to reduce unauthorized access.
