Weld-On Hinges

Also known as barrel hinges or bullet hinges, weld-on hinges are a type of hinge commonly used for heavy doors and gates, such as those on trucks or trailers. These hinges are mounted by welding them in place — as opposed to fasteners — reinforcing their durability and allowing them to support larger amounts of weight. Weld-on hinges are perfect for use cases where a heavy door or greater reinforcement is needed. Weld-on hinges also allow for better alignment and prevent give from side to side.

Many SPEP hinges are designed with an extended weld guide, which is great for quick assembly and also helps ensure welds are aligned properly. Once aligned and welded to the surface this hinge can provide years of durable strength.

We also offer hinges that come with open wings, or welded-on brackets, to make mounting in different configurations simpler, as well as a three-piece hinge that is capable of supporting extreme weight. To support proper lubrication, we also provide weld on hinges with grease fittings allowing for easy maintenance and smooth operation.

Our weld-on hinges are produced using aluminum, stainless steel, and steel, and are available in a variety of sizes and finishes. Bushings are made using brass or stainless steel. SPEP hinge pins are available in aluminum, brass, stainless steel, or steel, in both removable and fixed pin. Weld-on hinges with removable pins can be used as “lift-off” hinges for easy removal of doors and gates or wherever else a more modular application is needed.
