L Handles

An L handle is one of the simplest types of latches available, and thanks to their simplicity and reliability, L handles are still specified for a wide range of applications in a variety of industries. When an L handle is turned, it rotates a cam on the inside of the handle from a locked to an unlocked position, opening a door or access panel. While most L handles operate with a 90º (quarter-turn) rotation, we also offer handles that allow 180º or a full 360º of rotation.

We understand that every industry is different, and we manufacture a wide variety of L handles in different handle sizes, shaft lengths, and diameters to fit any application. In addition to our standard L handles, we also offer different mount types (e.g. blind-mounted or front-mounted) and inside-release handles, including red plastic-covered emergency handles for large enclosures.

Our L handles come in an array of materials and finishes, making it easy to find the perfect handle to match your product design. We manufacture L handles in black plastic, steel, and stainless steel including 304 SS and 316 SS, and we offer a variety of finishes, including:

In addition to materials and finishes, we also offer both keyed L handles and padlockable L handles. We can manufacture L handles with black plastic or white nylon roller cams, zinc-plated die-cast cams in a variety of lengths, along with set screws, cover plates, poron gaskets, and Keps nuts for convenient assembly and operation.
