Secure, Safe Defeater Handles
Defeater handles are a type of handle mechanism that requires a two-handed operation for both safety and security. This also allows for the additional safety measure of automatic locking. Our patented padlockable defeater handle is available as key locking, tool access, or non-locking to suit your needs, depending on the level of security you require. The spring loaded tab accepts up to a 3/8â size padlock.
Defeater handles are highly recommended anytime additional restriction is needed, as the mechanism type itself offers added protection. SPEP defeater handles are intended for NEMA 4x enclosure requirements, with a sealing gasket built into the escutcheon. These are recommended for both indoor or outdoor use in a variety of industries.
Our defeater handles provide a variety of mounting options too, using a provided body nut, and multiple holes. These bi-directional handles are similar to quarter turn latches and may rotate 90 degrees both clockwise or counterclockwise with the help of its removable stop washer.
